DUBLIN WEEKEND MEET UP

Thursday, 17th - Sunday, 20th July (Maximum 20 people)

Tentative Itinerary:

For twenty lucky travelers, grab the opportunity to arrive a few days early to Dublin and explore the city with other alumni before heading to Limerick on Sunday, 20th July for Annual Alumni Week.

Dublin is the cultural and economic center of Ireland! It is often voted one of the friendliest cities in the world. And, it has the youngest population in Europe, with approximately 1/3 of the population under the age of 25!

Arriving on 17th July, travelers will check into Dublin hotels/housing (arranged directly by each traveler) with UWPIAA Travel team recommendations.

On 18th July, the group will meet for a Welcome Breakfast, be given a Dublin Hop-On Hop-Off ticket, and then enjoy a guided walking tour of Dublin City center. After having lunch on their own and time for exploration and/or relaxation, travelers will meet at the Slovakian Embassy for a one-of-a-kind private reception with UWP Alumnus, The Honorable Andrej Droba, Slovakian Ambassador to Ireland. If travelers wish to dine after the reception, it will be on their own.

For 19th July, travelers will have breakfast on their own, enjoy a uniquely curated tour/experience (we are still working on the details), and then have time to enjoy the city and meals on their own. The UWPIAA Travel team will provide suggestions on tours for distilleries/breweries and historical sights as well as restaurants and taverns. Optional group dinner/tavern activities will be available on a cash basis.

On 20th July, travelers will have breakfast on their own. The UWPIAA Travel team will assist travelers in purchasing their bus tickets to Limerick. If people want to travel with others, the UWPIAA Travel team will offer to meet at a designated Dublin cafe to ride the estimated 3 hours to the University of Limerick for Annual Alumni Week registration.

UWPIAA Resources:
After attendees are registered for the Weekend Meet Up, they will contacted by a UWPIAA Travel team representative by e-mail as well as be invited to join  Facebook and WhatsApp groups to get to know one another and to share information prior to the trip.

What to Bring:
Participants are advised to wear warm clothes – layers work best.  A sweater, rain jacket, jeans or pants, and comfortable shoes are suggested. Temperatures may vary with rain a possibility. For the Slovakian Embassy reception, travelers are requested to wear business attire.
